Lady Konk x Reader

     After a long walk, you finally arrived at the marketplace. Your friend looked over to you and said, "Thanks for coming with me, I get so bored and nervous alone here." "No problem.", you responded with a smile. The young lady that stood before you had lightly-tanned skin, a small mole near the corner of her mouth, brown eyes that always seemed to flare with passion whenever she spoke directly to someone, and long, wavy green hair (it was usually in twintails, but she had it let down today). She was in her usual attire; black jacket with dark blue jeans. She was never the formal type. "I know it's a bit weird, seeing as we've only known each other for about a month... Maybe two... But I feel really close to you already, y'know?" "Yes, I get what you're saying, Mikaela.", you said. "Um... I know you know my actual name because I slipped up in front of you, but... I'd prefer you just referred to me with my title", she insisted. "Alright then, Lady Konk." Lady Konk nodded at you as you both walked in to the marketplace. As you two walked together, you glanced at Konk and thought things over. You two had been friends for a little less than two months, but as she said, you bonded exceptionally quickly. She was very happy and optimistic, and rather adorable from how dorky she tended to be. She was always acting like she's a self-proclaimed samurai due her Japan-loving nature, but this at least led to her being reliable and very loyal. Despite how close you already were, you felt the need to be closer. You ended up developing a crush on her, and hid it from her for the last couple of weeks. You can't pinpoint exactly why, but you felt like today was the day. The day to tell your friend how you really feel about her. "Hey", Lady Konk called to you, "I'm going to get some yucca for my mom to fry up." You tilted your head and asked "What's yucca?" Konk's eyes lighted up with glee,"Yucca is a plant-thing that grows under the earth, like a potato. You can fry it up, and it's almost like french fries. They taste HEAVENLY with meat, though~" You couldn't help but smile as you watched Konk gush about her love for food. She really liked eating, and it showed; She has a notably thick figure, although her signature black jacket was rather slimming. "Anyway," she continued,"I'm going over there." She gestured to the far side of the marketplace, "Can you wait for me here, maybe pick up some things and meet me by that bench?" She gestured towards a nearby bench and looked at you for confirmation. You nodded and said,"Sure thing." "Alright", said Lady Konk, turning around and advancing farther down. Perfect, you thought. You had plenty of time to think of a strategy.


     You bought some salmon, lemons, and bread in the area you were in, and was still thinking of how to confess your feelings to Lady Konk. It was then you noticed a florist in the corner of your eye. You approached and saw bundles of assorted flowers, all beautiful. You knew that Konk had a tendency to say rather corny things, and has a soft spot for old-fashioned ways of romance, so you thought giving her a flower would do well. You looked at all the flowers available, unsure of what to pick. "If you are looking to impress your special one...", said the florist,"....Then a red rose is the way to go." You thought about it for a second, and decided that you agree with the florist. You bought the rose, hid it under some of the bread you bought, and sat down on the bench you were directed to earlier. You waited for Lady Konk to come back, your heart beating with tension. You weren't sure of how she'd react to your confession, but you couldn't hide your feelings anymore. After a few minutes, you noticed her coming back holding a bag of potato-like vegetables. You waved at her, and she waved back. "You would not BELIEVE how long it took me to find these.", she said, looking a little tired. She set down the bag near the bench and sat down next to you. "You got quite a bit of stuff, there.", she commented, taking a piece of bread and gobbling it within an instant. "Yeah... I sure did..." You reached under the remaining bread to make sure the rose was still there, and tightly gripped it's stem. "Um... Listen, Konk..." "Yes?", she said, wiping crumbs off of her face. Your heartbeat intensified. You didn't know how, but you managed to make yourself pull out the rose. "I... I bought this for you.", you managed to spit out. Her eyebrows raised a bit before she took the rose in her hand and stared at it. "You got me a rose?", said Lady Konk,"I-It's lovely..." She smiled, and that made you smile. Konk held it close to her and said,"You're a really good friend, you know that?" You took a deep breath and said, "Actually... I gave you that rose to tell you that.... I want to be more." "Wh-what?", Konk said, gaining a blush across her face, "... M-more than what?" "More than just your friend", you confessed,"I've had a crush on you for the past few weeks." Lady Konk's blush intensified. "Oh...." She had a thoughtful look on her face, like she was thinking things over. She stared at you, then at the rose you had given her, then back at you. She breathed in and out before she started speaking again. "I've had some major trust issues recently... But I feel like I truly can trust you. As a friend... And maybe as something more." She giggled a bit and showed her usual wide, toothy grin as she stared straight in to your eyes. Direct eye contact with Konk was a rarity. "You want me to be your girlfriend?", she asked, already knowing what the answer was. "Yes", you answered,"I would like that very much." Lady Konk laughed happily and suddenly hugged you tightly. "I have no idea how this is going to turn out...", she admitted, blushing heavily,"But I know for sure I want to see." You smiled just as happily as she was as you hugged her back. Konk continued to hold you tightly, but she made a quiet noise. It was somewhat of a murmur, and the tone was a gentle yet upbeat. You'll never know for certain, but you're sure you have a pretty good idea of what it sounded like.
